Exams

Gujarat University exams are starting from 22nd of this month.

Why do they always clash with my birthday! May be the natures law.

But trying my best to prepare for them.

Though there are some thoughts coming that it doesn't matter much to get that 1st rank and it was always in school when you need to run after them... and all other stuff, but it is difficult to see that day when people say "you are not first rank".

Then how good do you feel ??

Asking the first ranker how is it to stand at second place he will have only 1 answer :

"I was the first one to loose".

Well writing this post on 15th is like I am still not that serious about the exams 1 week from now. But I have 1 week and 24 hours daily.

Will give my best shot and leave it to God to figure out what he holds for me. Let Him worry for this.

Apart from that writing the blog after a long time, figuring out what to write. Finally decided !

Hmm AIESEC work going on normal, at these last days the LCPe is busy finding his new team which can take Ahmedabad to a new level after the bench mark set up by RDX. It is kind of obvious, everyone will have to try really hard to fill in the void that RDX may leave.

Very less people know about the decisions and thought processing that goes into these things and I am happy that I was a part of it.

Some one yest nicely wrote on his FB status that: "It is always the audience that makes noice while players keep on working and performing " what a nice idea never thought that a simple game can give us such a wonderful piece of thought.

Finally nothing more to write and books are calling

Signing off

yours Vishal aka Vishi ;)

Ubuntu 9.10

Yessss !

Finally ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Kaola is out. One of my friend has already installed it.

I am currently facing problem in the installation of Ubuntu on my Laptop because of the very famous friend called Windows Vista and its naive and insane partitions !

Will solve the problem asap.

The reviews for Ubuntu 9.10 are amazing. Karmic Kaola (from now on “KK “ ) is considered to be a rival to Windows 7, yeah I know there is a vast difference between the user base but some critics feel that KK can do it and pull off away from Windows 7.

All the best to the Canonical team.

But there is one sad news, I came upon a news telling that Canonical would like to limit their CD distribution program which , according to me is a proper and apt decision , ie to give to the real needful.

I would love to put the next post from Ubuntu but I suppose that will have to wait.

Till then good bye, shaba kher , shubh ratri

You don`t have to be best

I came up with this article on unclutterer.com and immediately though of sharing with you all.

You don’t have to be the best

When I was younger, I studied ballet. By the time high school rolled around, I was spending 16 hours a week at the ballet studio, and that number would easily double when we were getting ready for performances. I wanted to be a prima ballerina and I poured most of my free time into preparing for that goal.

Then one day, I looked in the studio mirror and realized I wasn’t the best dancer in my company. I was technically proficient and extremely graceful, but there were at least two other girls who made me look like I had never taken a dance class in my life. These girls were exquisite, and a part of me knew that I would never be the prima ballerina as long as they were dancing.

So, I quit.

After 13 years of eating, studying, training, and living the life of a ballerina, I walked away from all of it without any notice.

I rarely talk about my time studying ballet because I am embarrassed by how it all ended. I can’t believe that I was so arrogant as to believe that if I wasn’t thebest, I wanted nothing to do with it.

What surprises me, though, is how often I turn to this flawed logic. Maybe you do the same thing? I didn’t take up running until my mid-30s because I knew I was a slow runner. It never crossed my mind that I might run for some reason other than winning a race. I never thought about the benefits of the exercise, how good I would feel while running, and that I might love running just for the sake of running. I missed out on decades of running because I wasn’t going to be the best runner. Ugh.

I run into this type of all-or-nothing absolutist thinking a great deal when talking to people about uncluttering. They see it as a dichotomy where a person will either be organized or disorganized. They don’t try to get even a little clutter out of their lives because they can’t get all clutter removed. They know that the prima Unclutterers will always be “better,” so they don’t try at all.

The humbling truth of the matter is that there will always be someone who is better at doing something than you are. Thankfully, uncluttering isn’t a competition and it doesn’t require you to be the best. It doesn’t matter if someone does it better than you do. You don’t get rid of clutter for someone else, you get rid of it for you. Comparing yourself to another person is unnecessary; you only need to look at your life and your needs to decide what is best for you.

I suppose this is the message for the day!!
